It's the shameless pick for superhero character of choice. Xena: Warrior Princess is
often ridiculed for its Sapphic overtones and high camp episodes - but
regular viewers know the series had bold, often epic story arcs, played
out by a ballsy yet charming cast. At its centre is Lucy Lawless,
undeniably brilliant as the repentant warlord on a quest to undo the
wrongs of her past. Not needing Hercules' immortal parentage, or
Buffy's "supernatural" powers, Xena is all-woman killing machine,
highly-trained, intense, focused, deadly and above all, wise. She
struggles with being "good", and the glint of joy in Lawless' eyes
during fight scenes shows how much she loves to be bad. Xena's reliance
on a tight group of close friends demonstrates the importance social
interaction plays in helping people make good choices. The good folks over at Aceshowbiz.com have revealed several new kick ass photos from the film which feature leading ladies Erin Cummings, Julia Voth and America Olivo. Check them out below!

“BITCH SLAP is a post-modern, thinking man’s throwback to the “B” Movie/Exploitation films of the 1950’s – 70’s as well as a loving, sly parody of the same. Inspired by the likes of Dragstrip Girl;, Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill; Kung Fu Nun and the pantheon of Blaxploitation films, BITCH SLAP will mix girls, guns, outrageous action and jaw-dropping visuals with a message… don’t be naughty!
At its core, BITCH SLAP follows three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer and a corporate powerbroker) as they arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort and steal $200 Million in diamonds from a ruthless underworld kingpin. Things quickly spin out of control as allegiances change, truths are revealed, other criminals arrive for the score, the fate of the world hangs in the balance and they are forced to confront a villain much worse than they ever expected… themselves. It’s the ultimate morality tale as, one by one, they realize the whole she-bang was a set-up and one of them may not even be human…
What also makes BITCH SLAP different is a complicated “B” story device that runs throughout the film to illuminate character, backstory and relationship histories not previously revealed. Like the film Memento, these scene flashbacks take place in reverse, so by the end of the film, you have a wholly different take on who these women are and why they are behaving so badly. Bet you never saw THAT in Jailbait Babysitter!”
"The ocker shockers have always been good at claiming ours as theirs.
In the past they have laid claim to actor Russell Crowe, although given some of his antics in recent times, they are welcome to him. They have also claimed that muso Neil Finn's one of theirs which made us see simply red.
Everyone who climbs on a plane to collude in Copenhagen will generate almost seven tonnes of carbon dioxide. They should all be made to pay for carbon credits which The Homie could do by accepting the five grand cheque he was offered recently by Greenpeace through Lucy Lawless."

Midnight Youth will perform at a free public concert to support Greenpeace’s Sign On climate campaign.
The band, which began at Rangitoto College, will join Opshop, Don McGlashan and Kirsten Morrell at the event, which will be MC’ed by comedian Rhys Darby. Ambassadors Lucy Lawless and Keisha Castle-Hughes will also appear.
The Planet A March and Concert for the Climate is aimed at allowing New Zealanders to show their support of a strong outcome at the Copenhagen climate conference.
The event starts with a march from Albert Park and up Queen St to Myers Park.
Ms Lawless says those involved take climate change seriously.
"We want our prime minister to know that the people of New Zealand demand that he attends the world summit in Copenhagen and support a 40-percent 2020 emissions reduction target."
The Planet A March and Concert for the Climate is on December 5. The march up Queen St kicks off in Albert Park at 1pm. The concert in Myers Park is from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.

:About a dozen or so years before the current vampire craze, and preceding Buffy by a year, the constantly provocative Xena: Warrior Princess aired an episode in its second season that featured Gabrielle and Xena turning into vampires, or “bacchae” as they’re referred to in this episode, servants of the evil Bacchus.
Okay, as far as being accurate to Greek mythology goes, they threw everything out the window. Bacchus (or, more accurately, Dionysus) was a god of wine and merrymaking, not a lookalike to Tim Curry’s Darkness from the movie Legend, after all. But the point of this episode wasn’t mythological accuracy, it was just to have a rocking good time, and they did just that. This is truly one for the ages. With The Simpsons now in its 789th season, the “Treehouse of Horror” episodes have been declining in quality for the past several decades, but when they started, they were awesome. I especially loved the vignette called “The Shinning,” a send-up of The Shining which was not only hilarious but actually a little unsettling, and the very first episode’s sketch which cleverly parodied The Amityville Horror.
And super props for one of their Treehouse sketches featuring Lucy Lawless in her Xena outfit.

L'Herrald dice:
Altri presentatori ospiti stasera allo show presentato da Dai Henwood includono il trio rock Australiano The Living End,
Lucy Lawless, Warriors Jerome Ropati, Jesse Royal, e Manu Vatuvei.

Ricordate Xena: Principessa Guerriera?
Lei apparirà come Lucretia in “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.”
Lucy Lawless

Lucy Lawless come Spartacus.
Renee O'Connor (Xena: Warrior Princess) come Varinia.

Nel documentario War With No Guns la narratrice Lucy Lawless (“Xena:

Starz photo/Sci Fi photo
Egli ha fatto parte del cast di molte serie drammatiche Australiane, che includono: “McLeod’s Daughters,” “Packed to the Rafters,” “The Strip” e“Out of the Blue.”
Are there any actors, past or present, that you would consider to have been an influence to you in your craft?
Leslie M.
You were Lucy Lawless’ double on “Xena: Warrior Princess.” What was it like acting opposite her in this project as opposed to essentially playing her on the show?
It was pretty cool, yeah. They wrote in a role for Lucy and wanted her to be involved. I never asked her outright but I get the feeling that she was just doing me a favor. I mean, there are a lot of people in her position, and we’ve always been fairly tight you know, we really like each other but there’s a lot of people that may not have wanted to have done that as a favor. I just think it was really a fucking sweet gesture on her behalf and it was so fun working with her on set.
But yeah, it was completely bizarre and yet it didn’t feel that bizarre, it felt very natural. Obviously, we’re comfortable with each other on set, we’re used to being around each other. But to be sitting opposite her doing lines was like, “Wow.” And at one point she said to me, “Zoë Zoë (that’s what she calls me) this is not our characters, this is me and you, this is Lucy and Zoë Zoë, we’re right here.” I was like, “This is awesome. Lucy Lawless is giving me acting lessons.” It was a real moment.
TTO: I’ve heard Lucy Lawless say the same thing about her days in Xena, how being the focus of everything, she soon realized she was setting the tone for the whole set. Speaking of which, is there any chance she’ll guest on the show in the second season?
CH: I have no idea, but I can ask Rob [Tapert] and get back to you!
Hi all,
I wanted to say thank you to Sarah and AE for posting the PSA, but also thank you to AE members for your support.
It was fantastic that Lucy and Eva agreed to narrate for us. They are both strong supporters of the LGBT community.
If you have time, you can check out the other vids at: http://www.youtube.com/user/CAEqualityNow and please pass the PSA's on, repost, etc. Many people have questions about the difference between domestic partnership and marriage. This vid might help to open the eyes of those on the proverbial gay marriage fence.
Hopefully things will go our way with the looming California Supreme Court Prop 8 decision.

FEEL THE LOVE DAY!Per altre informazioni visitate l'Homepage del Fanclub Ufficiale di Lucy
(posted on behalf of Rebecca who started this and whose computer is
acting up)
Hey Gang,
It's time for the third annual "Lucy Lawless Feel the Love Day"
charity drive. September 21st kicks off a week of charitable acts and
contributions by Lucy fans all over the world. Taking our love for
all things Lucy and sharing it with those around us who are in need.
You can choose what you'd like to do, whether it is donating money or
supplies to a charity, volunteering your time or services to a
charitable organization, reading to a child, or helping out a
neighbor, co-worker, or friend. Any act of charity or kindness counts!
And this year, Lucy came up with a great idea! If you choose to
volunteer and donate your time doing something that can be
photographed for "Feel the Love Day," bring a camera along and get a
picture of yourself in action. If you're making a donation, perhaps
you can take a photo of you and the charity's home page on your
computer? Or come up with another way to visualize the action. Send
it in to Sharon at lucylawlessfanclub@ dslextreme. com
The photos can be sent in at any time you do the volunteer work.
There's no deadline for sending in the pictures. Lucy has a plan for
the photos although she hasn't said what yet. And we'll be putting up
a webpage of them on her website.
Anyone, anywhere can participate, regardless of how old (or young) you
are, or where you live. All you have to do is decide what charitable
or kind act you would like to do during "Feel the Love" week, and
e-mail it with your name and location as you would like it to appear
on the pledge list. On Sept. 21st, Lucy will be presented with a red
rose and the pledge list of all the charitable acts being done in her
honor that week. To make sure your pledge gets recorded correctly
please use the following format in your e-mail:
"In honor of Lucy Lawless Feel the Love Day, I will (insert your
intended contribution) , then put your name and location (city, state,
country) as you want it to appear on the pledge list."
Please separate this information with space lines before and after in
your e-mail.
* Unfortunately, personal messages, street and e-mail addresses,
phone numbers, detailed descriptions of your chosen charity and links
canNOT be included on the pledge list.
However, if you'd like to write a line or two about what you are doing
and why, feel free . . . it just cannot be included on the list to Lucy.
I will be contacting Starship Children's Hospital to add a link on
their website that allows you to make your donation in honor of "Feel
the Love Day."
Since my computer has been on the fritz, Sharon has been kind enough
to volunteer to run "Feel the Love Day" this year. Please e-mail your
pledges to her at
lucylawlessfanclub@ dslextreme. com
The deadline for submitting pledges is September 20.
Then you have the whole week of the 21-28th to follow through on your
pledge and send in a picture. Or later if what you plan to do doesn't
fall in that week.
I'm really excited to participate again this year and I can't wait to
see the pictures of "Feel the Love Day" in action!
so much!
